The
Chin Group is dedicated
to providing clients with quality language translation
services at competitive rates.
TRANSLATIONS
All
projects are translated by
native speakers of the target language. We use translators
who have good comprehension and writing skills. This
allows us to provide you with a final product
that conveys the meaning of the source material while
avoiding the limitations and drawbacks associated with
just word-for-word
translations. We
only use translators who are ATA certified (or hold similar
accreditations)
and
have a minimum of 3 years experience in the field. Services
for projects requiring notarization or back translations
are also
available.
DESKTOP
PUBLISHING AND TYPESETTING
We can lay out your translated document, advertisement, brochure,
manual or newsletter to match the original
format.
Since
many
translations are 10% to 30% longer than the source some
adjustments may be necessary in order to fit the translated
copy properly (e.g. modifying the point size of the
type). We will use the original digital file that you supply
us with and replace the copy with the translated text. If
no digital file of the source document is available, we can
digitally lay out and typeset the copy for you. We can supply
the final product in Adobe® Acrobat (PDF), Adobe FrameMaker,
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Pagemaker, Adobe
Photoshop,
Microsoft
Word® or QuarkXPress® in PC or Macintosh® formats.
INTERPRETING
If you have a business meeting, court proceedings or
an event that requires an interpreter, we can find
the
interpreter that is appropriate for your needs. Please
specify if
you will need an interpreter to do consecutive
or simultaneous interpreting.
Simultaneous
interpreting involves "real" time
interpreting of the person who is speaking. Consecutive interpreting, requires
the person who is speaking to periodically pause
in order to allow the interpreter to translate the information
and convey the translation to the audience.
EDITING
AND PROOFREADING
We use professional translators who are fluent
in the source and target languages to proofread and/or
edit your document. It is advantageous (but
not required) to provide the source document for comparison
to the target
document to be proofed. We will check the document for
grammar, hyphenation, spelling and style of writing.
